What an exhausting weekend. Fortunately it was a good one this year for us. Not terribly stressful. Worked off a lot of tension and energy playing the new Wii (our 3-year-old son’s pretty good at it. Who knew?).

Annoyingly, we’ve decided that we need to order a 3rd proof copy of the print edition. There are a few tiny problems that, if it was just one of them, we might leave it (as much as it would irk us), but together we can’t ignore them. Every one is just a little flaw in the format. Gah. But hey, we want it to be as close to perfect as possible, so…

Today was very busy, but a lot of it wasn’t CG-related.

The biggest thing I did today was get the PDF of issue 12 formatted. It took longer than I’d expected - partly because there was so much more material, but also because there’s a lot more images than our regular issues, all of which needed resizing. I’m a bit giddy at the moment. I worked so hard on the magazine today that I’ve gone through exhaustion and out the other side to slap-happy.

Issue 11? That’s done. Except for a couple fiddly things, most of which can’t be done until the last couple days of the month anyway.

The print edition is done. Not only done, but submitted, approved, and the proof ordered. I love it when the approval turns around so fast.

I also had time to get the PDF edition formatted, and the various pieces converted to PDF. All that’s left is to merge them into one document and it’ll be set. And I stopped to check the P.O. box on my way home ( Read more... )

This morning I woke to find an email from Createspace, informing me that the cover image as submitted didn’t have enough “bleed” at the edge for printing. I thought that was pretty strange, since upon checking I found it ( Read more... )

Just because I’ve been quiet doesn’t mean nothing’s been going on. In fact, we’ve been up until 1am the last few nights working.
